Weight Loss

Achieving and maintaining a healthy weight is greatly beneficial to preventing disease and enjoying a higher quality of life. We are committed to helping individuals meet their goals in any way that fits for them, whether that is through comprehensive lifestyle and diet planning, prescription medication, or coordination with your local surgery center. Getting to a healthy body mass index(BMI) can prevent or alleviate conditions such as: diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea, chronic pain, and depression.

Lifestyle and Diet Counseling

Social media and the internet are full of contradictory advice on diet, exercise, and weight loss. This can be overwhelming to those who are attempting to change their weight or even those who have made progress and plateaued.  As medical professionals, experienced in managing patients with obesity, we can help you create an evidence-based plan that optimizes your metabolic health. We assess your diet, sleep, exercise, emotional and medical health to ensure that you have the best shot at reaching your goals. If necessary we can monitor your bloodwork and evaluate for possible contributing medical conditions.

When lifestyle changes aren’t enough, medications can be greatly useful in facilitating appropriate weight reduction. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved several medications for weight loss and weight management, including:

  • Saxenda

  • Orlistat

  • Wegovy

  • Contrave

Prescription Medication

Coordination with your local surgery center

If lifestyle modifications and medications are not adequate, surgery can be an option. We can help set you up with a surgical practice near you. Most surgical centers require participation in at least a 3 month to 6 month weight loss program before being considered an appropriate candidate for surgery. We can also help provide the necessary documentation to meet these requirements.
